[Link] Google expands AI partnership with Anthropic. The new agreement has Anthropic leveraging the latest generation of Google Cloud TPU v5e chips for AI inference. Using the TPU v5e (now generally available) will enable Anthropic to serve its Claude large language model (LLM) in a performant and efficient manner.
[Link] Canadian developer of fault-tolerant quantum technologies Photonic announced it has raised an investment round of $100 million. The company has developed technology that leverages the memory and computing capabilities of spins and the connectivity of photonics to build one of the world’s first scalable, fault-tolerant, and networked quantum computers.
[Link] Ericsson has received €30 million (~$32 million) in funding from Germany’s Economic Affairs and Climate Action Ministry for its KeeCEK project. The project is part of the Important Project of Common European Interest on Next Generation Cloud Infrastructure and Services (IPCEI-CIS), which aims to create a common cloud and edge infrastructure and its associated smart services for the future.
[Link] Cloud DCIM provider Hyperview announced a strategic partnership with DC Smarter, a provider of data center field engineering services, augmented by Mixed Reality Technology. I’ve enjoyed many of the (now released) videos and presentations from the recent 2023 Open Compute Project Global Summit. Including:
The infamous Andy Bechtolsheim: amazing talk on the AI data center - Scaling Innovation through Collaboration
Next Generation Fabric for AI/ML use cases: Disaggregated Scheduled Fabric using SONiC
I’ll be monitoring Denver this coming week, for The International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage, and Analysis.
