What I read last week
Here are the stories I read last week about digital infrastructure.
The purpose of datacenterlinks.com when it was established was to curate and share relevant news and articles within the industry. That blog (and now this Substack) serve as a valuable tool for me to stay informed on industry advancements and trends, as well as to manage the several dozen browser tabs I have opened.
Here is what I found interesting this past week:
Record level merger and acquisition activity in 2022 with $48 billion in deals. Synergy Research Group data. #datacenter
Industry leader Equinix announces they will begin running liquid cooled servers for their Metal service.
IoT (former interest of mine) + blockchain (current interest of mine) = very interesting possibilities. Excellent article at Dgtl Infra discussing how connected devices can benefit from the decentralized approach of blockchain.
Digital Realty signs 10 year, 116MW power purchase deal with global energy firm ENGIE.
Infrastructure Investor GI Partners adds Colorado based Rise Broadband to their portfolio.
Video from the Pacific Telecommunications Council event last month - Investigating the Heartbeat of Data Center Transformation. The hidden message (or message I am trying to put in it), is that #Iowa is an awesome place to build and operate data centers.
