[Link] The SINES DC project, developed by Start Campus in Portugal, is set to become Europe's largest colocation campus with a total IT capacity of 1.2 GW. This expansion follows the recent award of additional power by REN, the Portuguese transmission system operator, and is part of a phased development that aims to support the Sines region's growth while promoting renewable energy initiatives.
[Link] Edged Energy announced it will be expanding its portfolio with a new facility in New Albany, Ohio; with 24 MW of critical capacity, and waterless cooling.
[Link] Google has announced new data center investment plans for Dallas as it revealed plans to invest $1 billion in Texas this year through its data center campuses in Midlothian and Red Oak. The company said the investment would take its spending in the Lone Star State to $2.7 billion.
[Link] After launching the company earlier this year Foundry has announced its GPU-based Foundry Cloud Platform for artificial intelligence workloads. Foundry is offering access to its GPU capacity via resealable reserved instances in which AI teams can reserve short-term capacity from Foundry's virtual GPU machines.
[Link] Fission technology and nuclear fuel recycling company Oklo signed a Preferred Supplier Agreement with Siemens Energy for the power conversion system of the Aurora powerhouse and published its second quarter 2024 earnings and business update.
[Link] Texas Instruments signs a preliminary agreement to receive up to $1.6 billion in proposed funding for wafer fabs in Texas and Utah under the CHIPS and Science Act.
[Link] Natron Energy announces plans for $1.4 billion Giga-Scale sodium-ion battery manufacturing facility in North Carolina. The new gigafactory is expected to produce 24GW of Natron’s revolutionary sodium-ion batteries annually at full capacity.
