Google’s Urs Hölzle steps back, former AWS VP Vonderhaar steps in. Google Cloud has undergone management changes, with Chris Vonderhaar, former VP of AWS' data center community, joining to oversee the search giant's cloud supply chain. Urs Hölzle, one of Google's early employees, will step back from management after 24 years.
Chiplet Cloud: Building AI Supercomputers for Serving Large Generative Language Models. In a recent paper researchers propose a Chiplet Cloud - “a chiplet-based ASIC AI supercomputer architecture that optimizes total cost of ownership(TCO) per generated token for serving large generative language models to reduce the overall cost to deploy and run these applications in the real world”. The Next Platform article is wonderful - and explains the architectural shift and benefits for GPT efficiency, but I’m going to have to go read it a tenth time to see if I can comprehend some more of it.
Digital Realty Announces its first NVIDIA DGX H100-Ready data center. The KIX13 data center in Osaka, Japan, has been certified NVIDIA DGX H100-ready as part of the NVIDIA DGX-Ready Data Center program.

The Open Enterprise Edge Gateway was announced on the stage of the recent Open Compute Project (OCP) Regional Summit in Prague. The new solution offers a 1RU system that is configurable for network switching, connectivity, and processing options, and is designed for edge environments.
