[Link] Alternative infrastructure investment manager Fengate and Canadian data center provider eStruxture announced the completion of a $1.8 billion CAD transaction to enable the expansion of eStruxture’s portfolio of 15 state-of-the-art facilities nationwide to meet the demand for data center capacity.
[Link] CBRE announced the acquisition of Direct Line Global, a premier provider of mission-critical data center infrastructure.
[Link] Oracle announced plans to invest over $1 billion in artificial intelligence and cloud computing in Spain which will enable Oracle to open a third cloud computing region in the country, located in Madrid.
[Link] Taiwan: investment firm Actis announced the launch of data center firm Epoch Digital, with a current portfolio under development offering 200MW of IT capacity across three identified projects and more in the pipeline.
[Link] European core and edge colocation provider Penta Infra, and lead investor Photon Capital, announced the acquisition of the newly-built Nexus data center campus in Brussels from international real estate investor and developer Ghelamco.
HPE Discover 2024
[Link] Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Danfoss announced their collaboration to deliver HPE IT Sustainability Services – Data Center Heat Recovery, an off-the shelf heat recovery module, helping organizations manage and value excess heat as they transition towards more sustainable IT facilities.
[Link] HPE and NVIDIA announced a portfolio of co-developed AI solutions to accelerate the adoption of generative AI, including HPE Private Cloud AI, which integrates NVIDIA AI computing, networking and software with HPE’s AI storage, compute, and the HPE GreenLake cloud.
[Link] Intel introduced a new millikelvin quantum research control chip, dubbed Pando Tree, focused on addressing quantum computing’s wiring bottleneck.
[Link] Veritv and PEM fuel cell company Ballard Power Systems have entered into a strategic technology partnership with a focus on backup power applications for data centers and critical infrastructures, scalable from 200kW to multiple MWs. Collaborating to demonstrate the technical feasibility and customer benefits of hydrogen-powered fuel cell solutions, Vertiv has integrated Ballard fuel cell power modules with Liebert EXL S1 uninterruptible power system within a successfully demonstrated proof of concept at Vertiv’s facility in Ohio.
